GEI Hydraulics
Our mission at G.E.I. Fluid Power is to provide a cost efficient, timely, and competent service to keep your plant running smoothly and efficiently.
We offer a wide variety of classes to serve your individual needs. We can come in and pretest your employees to see what pre class knowledge they have so that we can start them at the right level.
The progressions of classes in hydraulics are as follows. : Basic1, Basic2, Advanced1, Advanced2, Cartridge valve, Proportional valve, MRS (maintaining repairing and servicing) of equipment, Circuit reading.
We can also set up a class for your individual needs. For instance if you need a class on fittings and pipe threads we can set up a course for just that and specialize it to the fittings and pipe threads that you use in your plant. Below is a outline of the different things that are covered in our classes.
HYDRAULIC FUNDAMENTALS Pascal’s law, Force (PSI) and Motion (GPM) Conductors: flow and sizing Seal construction and materials
FLUIDS AND RESERVOIRS Sizing, construction and heat dissipation of reservoirs Proper maintenance requirements Filters: uses, locations and sizing
ACTUATORS Construction, operation and applications of various types Area ratios for speed and force output Regeneration circuits
PRESSURE CONTROLS Construction, operation and applications of various types Proper use of relief, reducing, sequence, counterbalance, unloading, and brake valves
PUMPS AND PUMPING PRINCIPLES Construction, operation and applications of Gear, Vane and Piston pumps Types of controls Start-up and troubleshooting techniques
FLOW CONTROLS Construction, theory and operation Meter-in verses Meter-out Pressure compensated vs. non-compensated
DIRECTIONAL CONTROLS Construction, operation and applications of various types Selecting and applying 2, 3 & 4 way, 2 & 3 positions, spool types Single and pilot operated designs
ACCUMULATORS & ACCESSORIES Construction, theory and operationBag vs. Piston Pre-charge requirements and maintenance Heat exchangers and Heaters
